Ambassador Maria Laose Presents Credentials to the President of the Slovak Republic.

Nigerian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Austria and Slovakia Ms Maria Oyeyinka Laose presented her credentials to His Excellency President Ivan Gasparovic at a brief ceremony at the President?s office in Bratislava, Slovakia, on January 17, 2012.


After the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Laose had a brief audience with President Gasparavic during which she conveyed warm greetings from Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as well as best wishes to the Slovak government and people. Their discussion also focused on strengthening the bilateral relations in various fields of common interest.


The relationship between Slovakia and Nigeria is cordial and friendly. Both countries continue to maintain improved relations. In 2008, the Minister of State 1 Foreign affairs visited Slovakia to explore further areas of mutual cooperation.

Similarly the former Governor of Imo State Chief Ikedi Godson Ohakim visited Slovakia in June 2008 to explore further cooperation and most recently, the former First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs.Hajia Turai Yar'Adua, visited the First Lady of Slovakia Mrs. Silvia Gaparovičová on courtesy call.


Economic cooperation between Nigeria and Slovakia is on course and has great potentials for improvement in various sectors and both countries are anxious to see such improvement in the immediate future and therefore working towards it. Click for Photos.
